"It's a magical facility for the arts." - Broadway magician Harry Blackstone Jr.
Built by the citizens of Eugene, the Hult Center has quite an impressive history. Since its grand opening in 1982, the Hult Center has been charming audiences and popular performers alike with its stunning architectural and acoustical features.
From the towering glass lobby, the massive 2,500 seat Silva Concert Hall with its basket weave ceiling, the intimate 500-seat Soreng Theater with its intriguing asymmetrical design, to the divine Jacobs Gallery downstairs, the Hult Center is truly a great arts facility.
The mission of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts is to enrich the cultural life of our region by:
1. Providing a broad selection of performances and events by local and non-local artists and companies.
2. Ensuring the community has reasonable access to Hult Center events.
3. Providing opportunities for collaborative efforts that encourage arts educational activities for children and adults.
4. Actively seeking new patrons and developing future audiences.
5. Using its facilities in support of the visual arts in the community.
6. Making facilities available for expanded cultural opportunities, compatible community events and conference activities.
7. Managing the Center in accordance with the highest industry standards and in a fiscally sound manner.
8. Including Cuthbert Amphitheater as an off-site venue.
